Raphael is a consultant gastroenterologist at Caulfield Endoscopy, Cabrini, and The Alfred Hospital. He graduated from The University of New South Wales with honours in 2011, and completed his gastroenterology and hepatology training at The Alfred and Austin hospitals in 2018. He subsequently undertook a two-year subspecialty fellowship at the prestigious Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in London, United Kingdom, where he focused on the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and functional gastrointestinal disorders, and gained extensive endoscopy experience. He has published multiple research papers and has presented at both national and international conferences.

Raphael’s focus encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, bowel cancer screening, and liver disease. He prides himself on taking a holistic approach to healthcare, and is committed to his patients’ care whether as inpatients, outpatients, in hours or after hours.
