Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy, also known as pill-camera or wireless capsule endoscopy, is used to find problems in the small bowel that cannot be reached with standard gastroscopy or colonoscopy.

The patient makes an initial visit to Caulfield Endoscopy to ingest the capsule and be fitted with a comfortable belt (SensorBelt) containing sensors and the data recorder. The patient will then be able to go home and then return at the end of the day to have the sensor belt removed. The capsule will eventually pass naturally from the patient.
